    Are you competing,darragh-k?

Sure we'll give it a go! Last year as a junior so I'll have to talk to Mark tonight and see what the story is, have exams all up to that Saturday so I'll see, one training session a month isn't very ideal for it though!

Just wondering how these are determined?

Medals ordered, matts ordered, new scales bought, entries trickling in, Jim's beige hoodie in the wash, all is looking good for next Saturday (it's coming up fast!)

    Im2Lazy,

The N/I/A categories are determined by how successful you've been in previous tournaments. You are free to start at any level you want but once you medal at a level, you must step up to the next one.

i.e. Peter starts at Novice and takes Gold, so the next tournie he competes at Inter. He takes silver. In the next one, he's fighting advanced.

We found this was better than a timescale like under 6 months, under 12 months and plus twelve months. As you could have guys training 4x/week in under 12 months and guys training 1x/week in plus twelve months. Also, some firebreathers/guys from Judo background etc but only doing BJJ/Sub Wrestling for a few months were going into novice.

It's largely based on a honours system as well, but for the vast majority, we've found this to work just fine.

    Now get those entries in!

Just got off the phone with Ray from FightLord, who've kindly agreed to sponsor Tastiest Takedown/Sexiest Slam on Saturday.

They'll also have a stand there so if you need anything, it'll be available!

    When do the entries close?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,577 ✭✭✭Colm_OReilly

    Hi Maeve,

We've about 75 registered so far. We generally have about 25 or so show up on the day.

Thanks to everyone who's entered so far. Special thanks have to go out to Next Gen, as they've shown overwhelming support for the NSC. Will everyone fall prey to Chris Brennan moves? Find out tomorrow folks.

Remember, registration and the dreaded weigh in at 10am tomorrow.
