    Hello

I am planning to start building a house in the next 4 to 6 weeks and I am having trouble deceiding what type of heating system to go for.
Is there anyone out there who has been using a geothemal system to heat a 2500 to 3000 sq foot house(if so how much is it costing you to run per annum?), combined with solar panels to heat hot water?
I had initally planned on this system along with underfloor heating, but I cant seem to get a consistent set of answers from various plumbers.
Is the geothemal as heavy on the esb as I am being told?

    Confused??????????

Geothermal is only heavy if you dont insulate the house correctly.

Aim for a minimum of a b1. Dont listen to plumbers advice on this issue - im in the business and a decent plumber that knows how to properly fit geothermal are as scarse as hens teeth.

Underfloor is by far and away the most efficent method of heating your home with a heat pump.

I would suggest you look into an air to water heat pump. One with an inverter in it. They are more efficent than the older and more common ctc units, and cost less.
