Studio Flash/Strobe - where to buy (Alien Bees perhaps)

    Does anyone here own a studio strobe/flash set up? What kind and how do you find it?

    I've been looking at getting one for a photo club in order to train/teach/take some studio lighting shots. In particular, the Alien Bees brand seems to stand out; has anyone managed to order it to Ireland and how have they found it?

    I don't know about the alien bees, I've been looking into buying this

    I still have to find out what will be the story with the tax man, but as soon as my CC recovers I'll take the plunge

    I use an Elinchrom D-Lite 4 kit with two heads with softboxes. I also use 2x 580EXII and 1x 430EX for locations without power or just head shots. Both systems are excellent, the power from the D-Lite kit is very consistent and portable, it is a 400w kit and more than enough power and adjustment. I use a Lastolite Hilte background system too.

    Has anybody bought those no name studio kits?
    I'd like to buy a cheap set for doing some model work cause I can't afford a set of D-Lites or Elinchromes but I've been told that it can be hard to find the flash lamps if they go, is this true?
