    Anyone got one?

Was looking at this, looks like it would reduce the "biting into the shoulder syndrome"

    http://www.crumplerbags.com/Cart/index.php?catId=22

    Anyone got any alternatives?

Also, where sells crumpler stuff, cant seem to find an online supplier, it must be fairly new.

I use the unfortunately named Upstraps. Genius gadget, you don't wear it over your neck though, you hang it over the shoulder. I have the upstrap-pro version for the 5D and the normal one for the 20D.

I often use them both at the same time, one camera on each shoulder and I've never once had them slip at all!

I think Fajitas uses Optech straps. There's also the Black Rapid strap/carry system, but their website seems to be down at the mo.

I use these. Find them brilliant.

I use the Tamrac strap... Is great, really cuts down on it digging into your neck, has releases which are incredibly handy, and 2 CF card holders.

One of my best uses of 25 quid.

Both of those have quick release grips on them......do they not make you a bit nervous ?

They're very very very steady - I've dangled all sorts of weights without a problem.

Oh, got mine in the camera exchange if that's of any use to you.

I just got one of the el cheapo jessops or something ones from gunns for 7.50 and it's much comfier on the old neck - but it's way too long for me, even shrinked right up! I'm going to have to do some surgery on it, if I want it to be more useful... :(

    I don't use straps
the only I use for the last few years is a hand grip (one of them)
    and a lowepro toploader

that combination has got rid of my neck and wrist pains (the camera hungs from the arm when hanging down)

    quillmore, looks very Knight-Rider-ish! :)

I tried the town on saturday looking for a wrist strap for my Nikon like this, and couldn't find any. Apparently they are not fashionable any more, so i was told anyway! Eventually ordered two off e-bay for €9 including shipping.

I don't care how it looks; I don't think it looks too bad anyway

it keeps my wrist in good shape for longer (I've some mild carpal tunnel syndrome and if I have to keep the camera in my hand/fingers all the time I end up with some numbness by the end of the day)

the only modification I've made to the one I have is to replace the strap that keeps it attached to the camera for the strap of an old camcorder as the weight of the camera+lenses was more than the little stopper could effectively stop from sliding out

Neoprene straps are the best! They give a little bounce to the strap and the camera feels half as heavy .. you can get generic brands on the web for about 10 dollars.

I should have one older short and wide canon strap. I'll bring it with me on Friday. If I don't forget :-)

I ordered one of these on thursday after checking that link out, it arrived today and it's really good! Nice n comfy, the material is kinda like neoprene mousepad stuff. Seems fairly secure too. Now I also recommend these fancy shmancy camera straps.

Old thread, but thought i'd update for anyone searching.

I ended up buying a lowepro strap here

    http://cgi.ebay.ie/LOWEPRO-VOYAGER-C-CAMERA-STRAP_W0QQitemZ280233143832QQihZ018QQcategoryZ30052QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

And have bought a few other bits from there since. Good Value.

i took the advice here and bought the optech strap a while back. liked it, it did the job, way more comfortable than the canon strap. i would definitely recommend them too.

however i still just don't feel happy about having a camera around my neck in certain locations. eg. walking around a town/city. it's not so much about the camera being on show but it draws attention and then makes it impossible to take pictures without people looking my way (or running away from the camera!). hard to explain but i hope you know what i mean!

so i bought one of these and feel much more comfortable carrying my camera around and will probably carry it more instead of hiding it in the bag. it's a bit smaller than the one described before in this thread and no modifications required to hold a 40d. my best spend of euro 3.16 this week!!
