Toyota Avensis Inlet Manifold

I have a Toyota Avensis VVTi with 100000 miles on clock and there is an annoying rasping sound coming from the top of the engine area which I am told is the inlet manifold.Those cost €385 + VAT to replace.Can anyone tell me if I can drvie around indefinatley with this and live with the noise or does it need to be replaced…
