Photoshop Saturation

What does Photoshop automatically do to photos? I opened a photo, cropped it, resized it, and saved it as a high quality JPEG. When compared to the original JPEG, the saturation levels are boosted up. Is there anything you can do to stop this? Leaving aside the fact there are other apps to do simple things like crop and resize......

Check your colour space settings on PS versus the other app you were using.

For easy cropping and resizing try Picasa also has some nifty little features hope that's a help!
