    Hi,

Can anybody recommend somewhere in Dublin I can sit and write for a couple of hours a week in relative comfort and peace?

    Liberies, study halls, ect...?

I want to get a few chapters down.

    Cheers.

This is a hard one... I've tried lots of places, in the mornings I sometimes go and write in Cineworld before a movie... but with the schools getting out shortly this won't be quiet for long...

    Hope you find a place...

    Stephen

It's no use until next September now, but in case you still need something then I can tell you that during term time the massive study hall on the ground floor of the Institute of Education is kept strictly quiet, and they never ever check for ID cards. All the students make their own timetables, and it's where you're supposed to go when you don't have class, so it's not unusual for people to be there for hours on end. There are mature students, so you wouldn't stand out if you're a bit older.
I've spent many happy mornings writing away there when I was supposed to be in class.

Or what about the church next to Pearse? It's always empty and there are plenty of corners to tuck yourself away in. Might even get some divine inspiration for your scribbles

Why not just use a library?

There all over the place and are always quite in my experience (Not to mention pretty empty).

Aside from that you could make use of Ian Flemings advice. Get a hotel room, nothing focuses you like knowing your paying for the time and you'll knock out those chapters in no time.
