    Hi all,

Apart from using a PC/Laptop and the Internet, does anyone know of a method to listen to Irish radio stations from abroad?

    Many thanks,

Depends on where you mean by 'abroad'. In the UK, I'd imagine you could use an Irish SKY card in a Sky Digital box to listen to the (few) stations available on the service, or you can hear RTÉ Radio One on LW252.

I believe some stations (RTÉ anyway) are still available via Astra satellite transmissions also.

Apart form that, the Internet is probably your 'only man'. Listening on a PC is not the only option there as there are also WiFi capable radios available these days.

You can listen to RTE and Newstalk on the astra satellite. No need for a Sky card or anything. Frequencies here http://www.lyngsat.com/freeradio/Ireland.html

Thanks for your help. Parents would be in Spain but aren't that technically minded and LW won't reach.

Will look into the Satellite/TV option as holding phone to radio back home might be a little impractical.

I heard of Digital Radio and thought this might work but when I ready up it won't. Are there such things as Satellite Radios yet?
