    Hey alll,

Sorry beforehand if this is a stupid question, but I'm looking to create a 3D image of a box for a site I'm helping with. I have the graphics that fit the outside (each surface) I just need to generate a 3D image with shadow etc.

I've limited knowledge of illustrator and 3D programs, maybe just a nudge in the right direction would help

    Thanks in advance

They're charging $130 for box art - I was hoping to have a more cost effective solution.

Mind you I'd reckon there is a lot involved in these apps. If I'm right in what I think you're trying to do, it might be simpler to do something up in PhotoShop/Illustraor involving putting text on flat surfaces, then skewing them and sewing them together, then using some directional blurring of a dark silhoutte on the layer behind and offsetting if reqd to create shadow. Something like that.

Yeah I agree I'd say Photoshop would be you easiest option

There's a plugin for paint.NET that might suit you.

    Shape3D plugin: http://mkt.t-cat.biz/pdn/dl.cgi?mode=dl&filetype=s3d1260&num=Shape3D_1_2_6_0.zip (71KB)

I haven't used it myself just remembered seeing it before.

Blender is brilliant software and it's price is great(€0)... It's about ten times harder to learn than photoshop though. Good luck with that. After three weeks constantly battering it, I never got it... Even after one day with photoshop, i managed to get the basics..

Never tried any of the rest, sorry..
