Bush freesat

Got a bush HD freesat box yesterday, I bought the cheapest box available because I intend to sell it on when pvr,s are available, I must say that I am blown away by the picture quality on bbc HD. I am using it on a panasonic plasma 42" and through hdmi the HD quality is the best I have seen so far.
SD pictures are as good as my sky box. I know some people favour the humax foxsat for its extended add channels ability but I intend only to use the HD box to watch HD broadcasts and as an addition to my freesat skybox, also it is replacing my lidl box which I only use to record to a hdd recorder. I would not consider it a replacement for my skybox just yet but it is a very welcome addition.

"people favour the humax foxsat for its extended add channels"

But you can still add any FTA channel, right? How much and where did you purchase?

Only the humax box allows you to add channels that are not on freesat epg. The bush (or it,s clones) do not. This may or may not be a liability. If you are buying it mainly because you want HD then it,s not a problem.
The box came with a seperate one metre hdmi lead for 119.99 sterling from Argos. They had some stock in on sat.morning but were sold out at two o clock, I reserved mine online at 10am.
Check argos.co.uk. search for "freesat". I use BT487NN as a postcode for their derry stores.
I dont know If you can add CH4HD which is not part of freesat to a humax ,must check this out. Sorry no its just fta channels of course.

bbchd is a pretty poor example of hd broadcasting for the last few months. there has been a noticable drop in bandwidth which has affected pic quality. their coverage of the 6 nations and fa cup wasn't much better than sd broadcast. the itvhd broadcast of the champions league final last week was far better quality. what was surprising was the itvhd feed was an even lower bitrate than the bbchd feeds!!
