Contraceptive pill and bigger boobs?

Is it just an urban myth that some brands of the pill make your boobs grow?! Wierd question I know, but I've heard of a few girls who had this side effect.......

Everyone has a different reaction to hormones.
I would say it is quite common. But so is weight gain.

there's a post in the biology & medicine forum saying it doesn't contribute to weight being put on.

Personally i disagree. I've changed pill from Celest to Microlite and I think my liccle boobies have gone even smaller than they were

I dont believe that the pill makes your boobs grow some of the pills make u gain weight therefore your boobs get bigger....

yeah never heard about the pill makin yer boobs grow but the majority of them to make you put on weight so in turn your boobs would likely get bigger...

do you know of which on specifically? each one has different effects...

well the basis of the pill is boosted hormones

and hormones affect puberty-related things [ie boob size]

im on microlite and my boobies have balooned lol!!!and im losing weight with weight watchers cause ive gained alot over the past few years and im losing it everywhere else except my boobs lol

I'm on Dianette and I've gone from a C to DD since starting on it.

I'm on Yasmin and found it had an effect.

Mine have shrunken since I stopped, I didn't have weight gain.
So chuffed!

I went from c to dd on it. They can have all the studies they want, but the sheer number of people experiencing the change is proof enough for me.

However, it is NOT a good idea to go on the pill for that reason alone.

I never had cellulite until I started taking the pill. Big mistake! Now I've stopped taking the pill but am stuck with the cellulite! Also the pill made my appetite go through the roof. I wish I had never taken that crap.

same ive gained 3 stone since i started the pill 2 years ago and its not just the pill's fault but it put my appetite thru the roof aswell!!!and of course i go from a c to a DD also!!!

Yeah thats what i was thinking. Gained weight before on the pill and came off it but just trying to think of positives before putting myself through that again!

I can vouch for bigger boobs because of the pill - but then again my but got bigger too!

Everyone has different reactions to different pills so I suppose you can't know for sure

I wish the pill would make my boobs bigger... I was on microlite and it stopped working on me so on cilest now and although I was dieting and excercising helped me loose weight I am now eating loads again and not puttin on weight... So i wouldnt come off cilest as it could be helpin me but in saying that im only an A cup so u cant win

I would say it could depend on the type of pill used to be honest-an oestrogen-based pill would have an effect on breast/hip size etc-ya know, the "womanly areas". Whereas perhaps progestogen based wouldnt have the same effect

Yasmin was originally marketed as a "wonder-pill" that made you lose weight and get bigger boobs. I've a couple of friends on it and their boobs did get bigger, but I don't think they lost any weight. It just depends on your body, I guess.

Hey. Oestrogen makes breasts swell/ grow temporarily so your breats get smaller again when you come off. Oestrogen is in the pill.

Progesterone is what makes breasts develop in puberty and is often give in pill form in the States to women to enlarge breats w/o having to get implants. Unlike oestrogen, the effects are permament (unless you lose a ton of weight).

Some contraceptives are progesterone only (Implanon/ Depo - Provera). Myself and my cousin are on these because we can't take oestrogen. We've both gone up over a cup size, which was grand for her, she was a small B cup. I was already a D cup

mine have gone up slightly over the last year since ive been on the pill but it could just be puberty.

I lost nearly a stone on Yasmin...completely lost my appetite. Off it now and the weight is creeping back on. My boobs shrunk too, but they came back very quickly once I came off the pill. Didn't know yasmin was supposed to be a wonder pill from that point of view. I didn't like my weight loss!!!

Ya see i went from Cilest with bigger boobs to Microlite with little boobs!!

I was on this for a few years and found that yes, my breasts did swell. Quite drastically. I went from being a small C to a DD. My breasts were quite painful and sore, I used to call them my "clown boobies". Needless to say my boyfriend at the time was delighted *rolls eyes*. The thing is though, the effect wasn't just localised to my breasts, I experienced all-round weight-gain and bloating. This wasn't lifestyle related, as I've always been active and eaten healthily. I went from a size 6/8 to a size 10/12.

I've been pill free for the past year or so. My breasts have returned to being a small C and I'm back to being a size 6/8. However my breasts aren't half as perky as they were before. Because they swelled so drastically, the skin of my breasts was stretched, so now that they've returned to their pre-pill size they're a lot saggier than they were before. I also have some stretchmarks around my thighs and bum *sigh*
