Theres a little piece of text on the bottom of the new Dublin-Derry timetable which starts tomorrow.

(This appears on the Ulsterbus version of the timetable, the Bus Eireann one seemingly doesn't exist yet even though it starts at 0400 Monday 26 May)

Departure times are shown from main Ulsterbus Stations, intermediate timing points show estimated times which are dependent on traffic conditions

    Therefore:
-A bus can depart any intermediate point early
-The only "main" Ulsterbus stations are Derry and Omagh

A running problem over the last 7 or so years was the following anomily:
The distance from Ballygawley to Augnacloy is 4 miles and 10 minutes was allotted
The distance from Aughnacloy to Monaghan is 12 miles (over one of the poorest National road sections) and 10 minutes was given.

The drivers continually requested to make the timetable slightly artificial so there would be no waiting unnecessarily en route. This was the perfect opportunity to adjust the timetable...but no, it was missed (again). Drivers may not have waited their time after Omagh and passengers may have complained but the timetable was NEVER modified to reflect actual running times. It will be interesting to see if Bus Eireann's version will be the same.:p
