Just wondering what have these two done to earn a degree? a doctors none the less..?

seems a tad bit harsh for us mere mortals who spend years trying to reach that elusive status?

Honourary degrees, to be fair. However, it's simple enough to get one if you really want to. Join a political party, get elected to a council, pursuade the party of your merits and become a TD or MP. Do as you are told and eventually become a minister, then in due course become prime minister or Teaoiseach. Now either start an illegal war or get yourself a ten year tribunal investigation into your finances. Prepare a place on your sitting room wall to hang the certificate.;)

Who would want an honorary degree or doctorate if they give them to the likes of Blair and Ahern. A waste of good paper.

Is it true that Bertie claims to have gone to UCD and the LSE but neither cab find any reord of him?

In fairness to Blair though, he did get a degree in law from Oxford so that would place him fairly high acedemically.

Ridiculous really. What have they ever contributed to Northern Ireland?
