    Thursday May 29th at Wax

Rory St. John - Live [Man Trap Recordings]
Dave Anderson [Ferox Records - Ballyfermot]
    Giles Armstrong [Electric City]

    Admission - e6 / Free with flyer before 12

We welcome back Rory St. John to finish up this Thursday. Last time he played in Wax it was an everything but the kitchen sink set so this time the EC roadies will be glad to hear that Rory has got a laptop to do his damage with. Rory bigged it up recently at the Sibin Festival where his live set threatened to tear the roof of our tent but thankfully Woodies make them a lot stronger than they look. He has just released the Ear Cycle EP out on Dave Clarke’s favourite new label from Harold’s Cross, Man Trap Recordings and you can expect more from Magic John over the coming months as he unleashes his techno 3 pointers at various other hoop-like-labels.

Dave Anderson moved from Scotland to Dublin back in 2003, having been resident DJ for several years at nights including 'Spectral' in Edinburgh and guesting all over Scotland and England. Having released a couple of critically acclaimed 12"s on the now-defunct Emoticon label, Dave first played EC in November 03. Currently attempting to introduce deep-fried pizza and Hibs to Ballyfermot, he recently got back in the studio, with the first new tracks available on vinyl now as the "Stronghold" EP on the relaunched legend that is Ferox recordings under the stewardship of Russ Gabriel. Between the Ferox and Emoticon releases, Dave's work has drawn praise from Carl Craig, Laurent Garnier, Arne Weinberg, Recloose, and Fabrice Lig amongst others. For more sound and vision head to :

First up to be told ‘to hang on until we find some bass' this week will be Electric City’s second oldest resident Giles Armstrong.
