    Congrats to her.

    It's so strange seeing an Irish Pole Vaulter ranked in the top 30 in Europe! :D

    The old NR was always on borrowed time once she switched allegiances. Onwards and upwards for her hopefully!

    Well done to her! PV doesnt ever seem to have been promoted much here in Ireland, its great to have some publicity for it. Talking about pole vaulting, We finally finally have ours up in greystones! It was in action today for the first time: DSCF2273.jpg

    I think the old National records for both Men and Women testify to that! The men's is about 30/40 centimetres below where elite Pole Vaulters even enter a competition!

    Hopefully the field events such as the PV will start to get more recognition here; I think we could become very good at the more technical events if the interest was there. AFAIK, we've only ever had one Female ever qualify in a field event for the Olympics, and that was in the discus about 20 years ago. Now, obviously, Eileen O' Keefe is going to improve that record 100% in August. Hopefully our new Pole Vaulter will make it three in years to come!
