    Hi

Any recommendations or tips on what district of Paris is a good place to stay....just for general sight seeing and near metro. Any good priced hotel recommendations would be great as well.

    Thanks :)

Hi Jordan, I am just back from Paris, stay edin the Tulliere Gardens area, very central, you can pretty much walk to all places you want to see like Louvre etc and the metro is just around the corner.

Hotel des Tullieres is where I stayed.

The Marais area is a really nice place to stay, walking distance to a lot of sites, good metro connections etc. Try the Relais du Marais hotel.

Hotel Niel which is located in 17th District

You can get up to 1/3 off the normal price using the website in the link.

Hotel located approx 5 minute walk from Arc de Triomphe (where the bus from CDG Airport (Aer Lingus, Air France) drops you on Avenue Carnot) and 10 minute walk from bus park where Ryanair drops you. Handy therefore for when you arrive. Close to Metro

Nice bakery at end of road and market on adjacent street (Rue Poncelet) with fresh fruit etc

Whereever you end up, enjoy Paris

    I stayed here:
    http://www.accorhotels.com/accorhotels/fichehotel/gb/ibi/1400/fiche_hotel.shtml

Got a twin room for a bargain price. Safe location, very handy for Metro. Walk to Eiffel tower etc.
A little dated, but I think it was around EUR50 per night per room. Could not go wrong with that price, and this brand. That was during Oct mid term break 2007.

If you are after somewhere cheap and clean to stay, check out - http://www.timhotel.com/

Stayed at the one near the Louvre. Perfect location and although the hotel was basic, it served my needs. You don't go to Pari to spend your time in the hotel room!
