Yes, I do this for a living (selling that is, flogging is now illegal apparently)

Does anyone know if those "booster" devices can really help......do they just increase the "signal strength" or would they actually go so far as to increase "signal quality" or do they do anything at all??

They do increase strength but also increase noise at the same time so not much use for increasing quality as the "signal to noise" ratio does not change.

you could try using a larger dish this as this would obviously increase both the strength and quality. Make sure your using CT-100 as well.

My dish is already one of the biggest on the row I live on. Certainly bigger than two doors down!! That said, upon examination this evening, the dish revealed to be suffering from rust blistering- very slight puffs of rust underneath the paint. On the surface it looks like slightly puffed grey paint but when you scratch, even with your fingernail, they easily disintegrate to reveal the rust below.

    Could that be a problem??

We wiped the dish today with WD40 and took off some of the surface discolouration- no difference.

My finally remaining theory is that the LNB holder {the shaft itself} has been knocked out of line from being bandied about over the years, and is no longer pointing the LNB smack-bang at the center of the dish. Does anyone have any idea as to how I could go about making sure the LNB is aimed at the focal-catchpoint of the dish?

    As ever, thanks.

To be honest I think you should just invest in a new 60cm dish. Your current dish doesn't sound up to much and it will save you time and money in the long run if you invest in a good quality dish now.

I for one am sick and tired of listening from this poster and his alter ego "IT LOSER", Just get a professional in to setup this for you, with all the help you have got here through your many threads you are still totally lost (and going by the locked thread rather under appreciative).

    Enough please.

In fairness, if you don't like this poster's threads, just don't click on them!

Hero - maybe you should try and update the existing threads you have instead of creating so many new ones!

Well, this is an old thread, which I opened when I was looking for some spare bits {and I am still open to offers...} but I went back and used this to post about my satellite difficulties. So thats a start, what-what?:pac:

I will not open any more threads relating to my current predicament.

    Thanks for your support fella.:)
