I've been messin' about with trackmania united/nations for about a week .
It's great craic , and while I enjoy it , I'm not the best racer in the world (and about 80th in Ireland )Lately I've spent a fair amount of time fecking around with the designer.
It's a bit limited in some ways (you cant copy and paste sections of the track , so if you , say want to move a nice bendy ramp you've just spent 10 minutes building to another section of the stadium , you need to move it piece by piece), but it's fairly straightforward.
I'd set myself a goal of making/publishing at least one track a day.
Over the course of adding them I've been able to get the hang of the editor , and later the mediatracker (the bit that lets you do the nice intro's and effects in game).I'm still learning (as you'll see) but I've used the tracks to race against my missus and we've had fun with them.

    Day ones track:

I wanted to try something that while not being too hard to race around , had a couple of challenges.its really split into 3 sections , an easy loop and some straights followed by 2 slightly awkward jumps , and lastly a few vaugely tricky hairpin before you drop down into the finish.
No intro yet and not much track decoration.
    its downloadable here:

    Day two
    demo here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tcaz7DKXk7Q
ts an improvement on my first ,( well a bit anyway)
The track is about as high as I could make it ,and starts slow and ends fast ,if a bit bumpy

    its downloadable here:

    Day Three
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJGunLxqBfM
Bit of a bendy jumpy track this ,

    Day Four:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihlqSriHYxI
Went for a bit if a theme with this one
""The engineers at the Luas_Dublin Institute having waaay too much money , and too much time on their hands, took their Hadron Super-collider(Google it!) test area and built a race track around it.."...see this is what happens when you provide colleges with too much funding.....anyway it's your turn to race , strap in , have fun , and hope no ones testing the collider today...."

Added some effects that switch to internal cam on the big jump and barrel loop. Also spent about an hour trying to work out why it wouldnt let me finish this , until I discovered that the nice sci fi style collider track decoration I'd built out of those stargate jump rings was screwing things up (handy hint , they're actually checkpoints - doh!).Actually put an intro on this one as well...

    Day Five
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VHtsu_70mA
I based this on an old supersprint track , I'm quite happy with it , its fairly simple , some nice bits where you can go flat out , and I've an intro and a cheesy "insert coin" bit as well .

I'm still trying to get the hang of the mediatracker (I'd like to do those sweeping camera intro's I've seen on other tracks), and I want to try and experiment with the Dirt track blocks, and do some sort of stunty wall of death style tracks as well. Also I've yet to work out how to share them ingame , (and is the copper cost a publishing fee?)
Feel free to give us feedback, (well the good kind anyway , keep the "you suck"'s to yourself :) ), just not on me driving though as I know that's bad ;)

If anyone else wants to try and do a few tracks lash them up here , it'd be nice to see how other people do it....

    All good fun !

I can't help you as I've only been playing a few days now but I've just spent the past 30 minutes driving your maps and it was 30 minutes well spent !

I'll give them a go this evening. You should ask the lads running the unreal.ie server to put them up on it :)

    cheers lads
I'm going to take a break for a bit and try again next week .
If the unreal.ie lads want to use them welcome too (although they mightn't be up to their standards :) )
