I may be wrong here but I'm pretty certain that Sky News cannot be picked up via new Freesat service even through 'other channels'.

Has it become encrypted all of a sudden?

Im afraid, you are wrong. Ive Humax Foxsat box and its capable of receiving all free to air channels, including Sky News.. All non freesat channel are viewable on the Non freesat epg "non freesat mode" as its refered to by Humax. (just now and next info)

Tony, the epg is very good, inthat you only have the channels you can watch on the epg. and you can also delete the channels you dont want on the epg, example the shopping channels. Its also possible to mix the bbc/itv regions to what you want on 101,102,103. ITV can be changed by postcode, the BBC's can be changed by "customisable epg" whereby you can select a different BBC1 or 2 as your main channels at 101 and 102. You may want UTV as 103, but BBC1 London for 101.

The "other channels" option on freesat is a lot more userfriendly then sky's. similar to epg on an ordinary fta box on 28deg east.
