SKy & Hauppauge

This is my first foray into HTPC so I want to be sure I am getting the right gear. Apart from the streaming part which I'll be doing via an nfs mount I also want to be able to hook up my Sky Digibox to the pc.

I'm looking at a Hauppauge PVR 350. I've just got standard Sky - Pace Digibox. If I hook that up via coax it'll work ok - am I right? On the back of the Pace box there are two scart connections and two coax RF connections- I assume I can just hook one of them up to the coax on the 350 card?

I know a 250/150 would be better but single input is fine for me - I've no cable - just one Sky digibox.

    Thanks in advance.

Quality is quite poor over RF (coax) and you only get mono audio.

For the best picture, use the scart marked 'TV' as it should have RGB. The VCR scart will more than likely only output composite which isn't as good. Either RGB or composite is a fine improvement over RF, however, and offer stereo audio.

no rgb into a hauppauge card. so scratch that advice. you're not lucky enough to have one of eh sky boxes with svideo out? that's as good as you'll get from a sky box and is still compatible with a hauppauge card

    Don't think there's s-video out on it - it's an old box tbh. I've bought a PVR350 anyway - I'll see how it goes.
