My thoughts on the Hitman movie.

I watched the Hitman movie a few days ago. It was entertaining and I enjoyed it but I'd agree with some reviewers who said it had flat acting, gratuitous violence and a confusing plot. All through the movie I couldn't help thinking, although a fine actor, how mis-cast Timothy Olyphant was as the Hitman. The obvious choice for this role would've been Jason Statham, totally believable as a hitman even before he speaks. The role required too much effort for Olyphant to be convincing, and it showed. I think it could have been a great movie with Statham, a decent director, tighter scriptwriting and better storyline. Another potential sci-fi action franchise hits the dust.

Have you played the games? Statham would of been HORRIBLE as hitman. He works in most other movies because he brings comedy to action scenes and always looks disgruntled about something. The hitman needed to be somebody that always looked stoic and emotionless.

Where they failed with this movie was trying to give the hitman emotion and also introducing the ancillary love interest. In summary, too much tit not enough hit ;)

Was it just me or did somebody give them a plot with large chunks removed?

Thought there where some slick moments in the movie...when walking into the restaraunt and the camera turned into 'game mode'

But there was alot missing from the story. And I agree, Statham would have been useless because a) he's a sh*te actor and b) he's a sh*te actor

Seeing that chick naked was a nice touch.

Utterly dire film, the nude scene was the single most gratuitous thing i've ever seen in a film! sexy but entirely pointless, unlike the film which was just pointless!

I thought it was grand for what it was. I was never expecting something amazing. As a fan of the games, I was a little disappointed that
they got rid of the cloning and replaced it with random children being thought to kill.
    And also
hinting that the church was involved, but never explaining how or why.

If they had just stuck with the games various plots, they'd of saved themselves a lot of hassle and have a much better story. To be honest, with regards the love interest, I thought it was handled reasonably well. If you ignore the game (which the creators seemed to have done) it kind of makes sense that 47 would react in those ways to a woman coming onto him and he would eventually have some sort of attachment to her. Sexually, he's just like a child entering puberty, so he's going to be unsure as to handle it. Just my thoughts anyway.
