Snail mail spam / scam! Retro...

    My Dad got a letter informing he'd won some kind of Spanish Lottery the other day.
    A form was attached asking for bank details etc...
    The document itself was a laughable Word attempt at making something look good - scattered with out of place photos / WordArt and other clipart... and an out of place logo of Allianz Insurance thrown in to make it all look official.
    I'll scan it in later this evening for ye to have a gander.

    Don't remember receiving one of these before myself, or hearing about them. Anyone else get one, or know who got one?

    Maybe I should have posted this in the 'All Things Retro' forum?

    Nice to see someone went to that little bit more effort than a cut and paste bulk email...

    I got a text message on my phone last night saying I had won an Ipod and to text a number to claim it.. I didn't text back.. Did anyone else get that??

    You should ask comreg if the number is legit.

    Did it inform you of any extra costs there would be had you replied?

    I know about that scam, I heard the spanish authorities arrested a gang of 30 Nigerians a while ago.

    Did it inform you of any extra costs there would be had you replied?

    In that format, looks like b0llox to me... The sender is marked asa 'FREE MSG'
