So you're walking around town, etc... and you see places advertising jobs. Why not post them in here for others to know about. Just an idea and not sure even what the mods will think of it. I'm talking about the Dunnes, Pennys, etc... jobs not the one's doing Web Development in some big office, that's what them job sites are for mainly.

    Good idea?

This is really where my idea sprung as I'm just finishing up 5th year and have found it hard to get a job since about the start of April, although I'm waiting on 3 replys.:D

Try the usuals though, Dunnes, etc...

I know Pennys on O'Connell St are looking for people.

I'm only having a bit of fun with you. ;)

Yeah, I don't see the point in making this a sticky. The information is only useful if it's "new". Hearing about a job advert from a month ago in a shop isn't going to help anyone. If the community can keep this thread going and up to date then it'll be useful, but if that's the case it'll be up near the top of the forum anyway from the posts it'll be getting.

So, no point in making it a sticky in my opinion. Stickies are for stuff that's "forever useful" or at least posts that'll stay relevant for a long time etc.

For people finishing up in secondary school for the summer

definitely try Supermarkets, Woodies, most big companies like that, then I suppose the little shops, cinemas are also a good one.. IMC in Dun Laoghaire, not sure how all these companies are for under 18's tho. I know i was the last 16 y o to be employed by Dunnes Cornelscourt 5 years ago anyway

A lot of the chains don't advertise - they have a good few CVs on file from spec applications and people just showing up and asking on the spot.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Also now that I think of it, Dunnes have a lot of "walk in interviews" advertised in their stores

Aye I'm looking for a job too, around the North Dublin area, Well, I currently have a Job in Fun Galaxy in Airside, but for the summer, I doubt many hours will be available. I'm only 15 though, going 16. So I realise it'll be hard.

Dunnes in the Pavillions in Swords hire 15/16 yr olds for floor work, JC's Shopping Centre in swords hire virtually anyone, as do where I work now, if anyones looking.

Most pubs in swords are looking for bar staff, for the light work like collecting glasses etc etc. There's 2 internet Cafe's in swords looking for part time staff too.
