This is the heaviest specced device i've ever seen. http://pocket.info/blogs/pocketnet/archive/2008/05/17/e-ten-dx900-dual-sim-smartphone.aspx Dual sim, HSDPA, Wifi, GPS, DVB-T, FM radio, bluetooth 2.0, WM 6.1, micro-sdhc, 533mhz processor, accelerometer... Seems to have everything except a hardware qwerty. Hopefully they'll make the WM UI more usable as well ala HTC TouchFLO. Not mad about Eten products TBH but hardware-wise this is absolutely packed with technology. The dual sim addition is especially interesting. Anyone have any more info on it?

Been using an Eten x500 for over a year and find it excellent, I'd have no hesitation buying another Eten product and most likely will get one soon. One of their recent phones came bundled with spb mobile shell, which is probably better than htc's touchflo in terms of useful functionality, so there's a good chance it would appear in a phone like the linked one.

Yeah spb mobile shell (2.0) is a life-saver- i probably use it more than the built-in TouchFLO on my own device.

I had the Eten X500 and even though it's a decent all-in-one (phone/pda/gps), i wasn't mad about the build quality.
Its successors are the Eten X800 and M900 (IIRC)- which look decent enough.
Which one are you thinking of getting?

It'll probably come down to what exactly I can afford! But the X800 was the one I had my eye on. Eten are quite good at getting new products out though so it's always worth keeping up to date with news etc but there's a lot already on the X800 plus they've got an OS update available now too so it's a good package. I'm tempted by some of the new HTCs though too so just haven't really made up my mind yet :)

I've had a few etens although packed with great functionality the firmware lacks real stability, if they worked on more stable firmwares I would be back in the market for one.

Which have you had? I honestly have encountered no real problems with the X500 (OS updated to Win6) - maybe reset a total of three times in the last year which is a pretty good average for a WinMobile device I'd have thought?

Jakers, I hope you're talking about hard resets, not soft resets! I've had to soft reset my X500 WM5 about once every two days, to keep the memory clear for running programs. No matter how one manages ones programs the program memory decreases daily, until eventually programs just barely crawl open.

I've just installed a Simore Dual Sim card and it's passable, for more info see my post on www.eten-users.eu.

This was my first phone/pda and I'm happy with the build but not the stability.

The phone aspect often freezes and calls can't be terminated.

    That's all for now.

    Hi Toga.
I was thinking of getting a simore dual sim.
I know they work with 3g sim cards but do they only give GPRS speeds when used with a 3g sim?
Or do they actually connect to the 3g network when using a 3g sim with them?

Also are they available on ebay any more or did you just buy from the simore site?
It'd be great if you could answer that for me.
    Thanks.
