Structural/architectural glass in residential project

Does anyone know of a decent supplier of structural glass for modern residential extension in Leinster?

I've tried googling, but only a handful in Ireland and their portfolios look poor enough.

I want to achieve finish like these guys seem to achieve. Unfortunately they don't supply to Ireland.

Also if anyone has personal experience of working with glass in this way, would appreciate any advice. :D

Structural glass isn't a great way to refer to it.
Its a glass wall. Its not a structural wall though.

Try "curtain wall" manufacturers, find similar buildings near you and find out who did the glass, and if they do small scale (assuming most similar buildings will be larger)

I think by structural glass the OP might mean planar glazing. Heard some of the manufacturers mention it. Obviously I wont reccomend any manufacturer but I can list several if allowed by the mods, otherwise I can PM but I think it might be a handy reference for anybody looking for similar

Thanks Slig and Mellor. Searching for "planar glazing" and "curtain wall" has revealed about another 5 potential suppliers. Most look like they specialise in commercial. If I find out which cos. will do residential projects I'll post again.

Tipperary is a good place to go ( its not a long way!)
What they can't do can't be done... always found them friendly, helpful and competitive.
No problem with glass floor or glass balustrade ( no vertical supports required... just sheets of glass screwed to steel beam)
Pm for email address and phone number etc

OK all the glass in Ireland seems to come from one manufacturer, Carey Glass. They do Planar Glazing but not curtain walling.
There are several types of Curtain walling I would recommend, these are systems not manufacturers, so sourcing them is up to you!

    Tecknal
    Schuco
    Alcoa
    Wright
    Pilkington

I wasn't refering to that Company Slig!
Nothing wrong with them, they might have the only A rated frame in Ireland.

    Good spec on manufacturers too.

I'd advise the OP to check out Pilkington web site.

I sent a PM or private message to a few that contacted me.:)

    what does pm me mean?
    ciao

PM = Private Message (or messaging). I think RKQ may have already sent you a PM but if not you simply click on his user name and then on "view public profile". Then under contact details you will see an option to send a private message - click on that and Bob's your uncle. The messages are private and no one else can see them - not even me

I was talking to a couple of window manufacturers and they said that the spider ficxings for planar glazing are over the counter parts.
In theory an engineer could design the planar glazing
remember though, that for convenience, panes of glass should be max 3m x 2m
