From a musicians point of view,

What is the best way to get your stuff onto radio?
    Why is so difficult?

    Hello there,

Its not so difficult really. If your music is good and fits the format of a particular show or station then it will get played. Your first demo won't get daytime airplay on a Commercial station but may well get play at a later hour or on community/institutional stations. Its like gigs, you start small on a wet monday in a very small venue and if you're any good, you work up from there.

Its all about the time you put into it really. Except if you're brutal of course, then you would be wasting your time anyway ;)

Send your demo to everyone, - the nationals, the regionals, the locals and the community stations - and follow it up with a phone call. Get to know names, get some contacts in the industry - and send them your next track too. Community stations will probably show more interest in you, especially your local one. Getting involved in your local community station (offering to help out with presentation/production/whatever, depending on what they need) might help too.

A lot of bands showcase their music on MySpace and many dj's who have an interest in championing new music will surf through myspace looking for the latest new sound. You could try setting up a page for your band, which would include downloads of your latest music along with a history of the band, bios, contact details and news of any future gigs. Then email radio shows/ stations/ djs with a link to your page. The great thing about this method is that you can hit stations across the water also.

One word of warning though. Send each show or dj a seperate email rather than bundling them all together on the same address line. All radio presenters like to think that they are getting potentialy 'exclusive' pointers to the next big thing and none of them like to see themselves lumped together with the competition.

    Good Luck

    He's right, though, and here's an example : http://www.myspace.com/accessallirish

The "My Friends" box is expanding by the day with people finding us and us finding them!

    Thanks guys,

It can be very difficult when you are doing something very differant, as in not the usual singer song-writer stuff... - but i think that will stand to us in the long run...

Shall try what you have suggested. Just trying to get some form of idea where to go,
