Any speculation on when Mullaghanish / Spur Hill will start DTT ?

I read recently that Spur Hill had started DAB.. will DTT be far behind?

On the Aertel Technical page 169, it states that various FM radio stations will be off air from Mullaganish on May 20th & 21st to allow for the removal of 6 antenna and installation of 3 Dual Band antenna. Anyone got any idea if dual band antenna are anything to do with Dab or Dtt ?

    No. That's all GSM stuff.

Looks like they are removing 6 seperate transmit and receive antenna for 3 combined transmit/receive antenna.

I did hear that they are looking at Woodcock for DTT. I think it's structural checks to see if the mast is suitable.

Woodcock Hill, Spur Hill and Dungarvan are all being surveyed for DTT in the next week(s).

    Interesting.

I wonder is the Autumn rollout been abandoned or is that just the public launch? That's close to 80% population (not 80% geographic).

I see they say 77%, not far off my guess.

Notice they need a futher 31 sites added to the 13 to get from 77% to maybe 90% population then a further 144 sites to add another 5% terrestrial population coverage.

DTT is looking very silly compared to Satellite Strategy.

This document is a list of options and costs. There is no actual commitment dates. So the first bunch of sites (the Notional 77% to 80% we have talked about for months) really could be still this Autumn, or Q2 2009 or any date they like.

I think Mullaghanish is meant to be before end of 2008.

I'm guessing August 4th for Spur Hill DTT.

From Midleton I tuned in to digital transmissions and got perfect sound but no picture.
Have I (a) not got an addequate signal
    (b) not got an addequate aerial, or
    (c) not got proper equipment.
I am using a Sony DVD Recorder
