Wedding ring size Vs engagement ring size

    Hey :)

I've happily just ordered a gorgeous wedding ring, which im thrilled with, but im having second thoughts about the SIZE in which it should be.

They told me in the shop that the usual thing is to order a wedding ring a half size UP from the engagement ring size. However, when i tried on the ring in the shop in the same size as my engagement ring, it seemed to fit fine.

So i ordered the wedding band in the same size as my engagement ring.

Chatting with a pal last night who got married recently she was saying she;s now sorry she didnt go a size up for her wedding ring and will be sending it back to the workshop to get it enlarged.

So now im confused about what to do! My wedding ring is being made up from scratch for me, so i probably still have time to get the order changed but i would want to move it.

Is easier to enlarge a ring or make it smaller? What would any pro's on this board advise me to do?

Thats odd. I was told the opposite (H Samuel). The girl said to make sure there was a good bit of 'pull' on the ring to ensure it doesnt slip off. So it drags the skin a little when being removed, but still able to remove it.

Im quite happy with it tbh, and it made a lot of sense. I would get back to them and let them know what you are happiest with. You dont want the extra fuss of having it re-sized.

    Make that call! :pac:

    Thanks!
Im currently experimenting - wearing 2 rings on the wedding finger for a few days with engagement ring on *inside* as it's same size as wedding band i ordered....so far so good, its comfy, so i think im happy with the advice i received :)

Does your diamond sit up above the wedding band or did you need to get a cut in the band to allow the engagement ring sit snugly?

It's going to depend on your hand and the 2 rings. If the person making up your ring has a few rings in stock in or around the size of your engagement ring, then you should try them on to see what will suit you.
