Blackberry connecting to Gmail question

    Ok i just got a Blackberry 8300.

Sorta have it setup to receive my gmail but i'm not sure about a couple things here cause i'm pretty sure this isn't right.

For one, currently to check my Gmail i have to go to the Messages icon, then open a mail there that says "WAP Push Alert" and click on a hyperlink in that message that goes to http://02.mymail.ie/msidn.asp
Which then goes online and the page is called "02 MyMail"
And there is my gmail inbox.

Is that what have to do everytime?
I wonder can i get my gmail to go into that Messages "inbox" at the very start.

Also, i see it's downloading the gmail Spam folder too, is there a way to stop that?

Been trying to find other help online but it seems i either don't have the Blackberry icon other people do, or i don't find the sort of settings i'm looking for at 02.

    Ahha!
The guy in the shop gave that url to me too but when i got home it didn't work. So i presumed it was no longer valid and instead tried navigating through 02's site with my existing 02 account.
    Thanks.

Now, is there a way to prevent the gmail SPAM folder from downloading or is that not going to be a problem?

Register on that site and then add your gmail account
You shouldnt have any issues with the spam folder. I never do
