Lil Scrooney dude Decides to die during Leaving Cert Life Drawing?WTF???

Right. . .On friday the 16th of may i did my Leaving Cert Art Still Life Drawing in the hall with the rest of my classmates. . . . . I REally wanted 2 get full marks as i wanted 2 make up for my Botique that i didnt do so well in&the simple fact is that im good at it 2!!! Sooo this 1st year (lil-scrowney dude) posed for 10mins and did a good job ! After the 10minutes he decided to feel sick,,and he grabed his head and stomach and sat dwn without the ability 2 continue standing!!

I at the time i was like WTF. . .I didnt accept 1 bit of this cause i drew half this dude - getting really into it!! And i wanted 2 finish drawing him!! I made a huge sene,,Ended up . . Arguiing with my teacher and Vice Principle and getting kicked out the school?!

Question:
Should i be kicked out of school just for the reason that i made a sene because of the fact this kid decided 2 get sick??

You've learn a valuble lesson here: model comfort is everything. At least you've got the Hons english to fall back on.

I'd say you should be kicked out of school for the first reason, but one way or the other an apology is required. From you.

If u know you are good at 1 thing in your leaving Cert (in this situation Art Still Life drawing) And **** at another ( Like my English spelling) Why should i not complain and make a issue out of it- I made a sene not unreasonable but to let the teacher and vice principle know- im not tolerating with this!

U Honestly think im going to let the teachers know ''Ooo its grand , i will just do it all over again!'' ?? Comin - ''Its tottally redicoules"... If u cant get a 1st year to pose for your Leaving ..''U should Get a Bleedding statue!''

Another thing is that this is a State Examination! And believe me i need the marks and ''POINTS'' .If u were in my shoes u honestly would carry on as if the situation was ''ooooooookkaaayyy''?????

First off the % of the overall art grade for the life drawing section isn't massive so planning on making up for a poor english grade by doing well in your life drawing is a bit silly.

Every school has students in younger years sit for the life drawing as its not like they are going to fork out the money for decent models and they always have the same poses each year. if you think its ok to replace the model with a statue then you don't really understand the point of life drawing. Models move and a good artist is able to capture the pose. If the model had fainted/collapsed/got sick then the life drawing session would have been done over either by getting another model in that day or having it on another day. There is a re-sit of the leaving cert in august for people who missed due to illness or family issues so at most you'd be waiting till august not a whole year.

Throwing a fit at your teachers is stupid, you don't complain to them as you said its a state exam so its the board of education you take it up with, the school can't do anything except tell the department of education there was an issue with the model and they need to re-sit that section of the exam. So in answer to your first post question yes you should have been kicked out cus you acted very immaturely.

True u got a point right there! And having restless 1st years posing for your exam ..is unacceptable! By me anyway! This student was replaced after getting sick! I accepted and carryed on doing another 1st year!

But do schools not have the responsibility of ensuring reliable models?
Does the teachers not cancel my paper instead of tolerating with my attitude at that time?

I blame the school, But for a State examination myself and classmates,its
a situation that should not of happened !! but look at the end of the day it is what it is!!

Its a life drawing test ie drawing from life, living things move thats the whole point of the test - any idiot can copy a photo or statue, the point of life drawing is develop your hand/eye coordination and get you really looking at the figure. Energy, movement, forum, etc all should be in the figure.

reliable models? its leaving cert level art for fecks sake - the life drawing is a joke and most art schools think students are better of not taking art for the leaving cert. First off the department of education is not going to pay for professional life drawing models, it is up to the school so unless your school has been hiring models for your art class your going to get a student modeling. The poses they have each year are beyond boring and dead simple, not proper life drawing at all.

why should they tolerate that sort of attitude and behaviour? your getting ready to leave school and either go on to further education or enter the work force your not a child and as such shouldn't act like one.

it happened, the school replaced the model, theres nothing for you to throw a strop about. Sounds like your not ready for the exam and looking for anyone else to take the blame. its a life drawing test you should be able to draw whatever model is front of you - if they taught proper life drawing for the leaving you'd be able to get the whole figure down in 30 seconds.

Honestly this thread shouldn't even be in this forum. go whine about it on the leaving cert board if you aren't a troll.
