Hi. My foundation has been melting on hot days and I am looking for a good face powder to prevent melting and shine?

Anyone got any recommendations? Looking at Mac Blot Powder or Benefit's Dr Feelgood, but have no experience with the brands.

i got a great tip recently and it was to put your moisturiser on at least 30 mins before you apply your foundation, it stops it coming off so soon, it actually works.

I like Mac studio fix, or else Rimmel stay matte is really good and cheap too, can't go wrong.
My foundation tends to go shiny as ive really oily skin, I find using an oil free moisturiser and foundation really helps.

Definitely Mac Studio Fix, I've been using this as foundation for 5 years now and it rocks!:D

Use a liquid foundation, brands differ but I prefer Max Factor. Don't use pan sticks or anything like that because they clump in hot weather and make your face look like you have patches of makeup, before applying it moisturise with Aloe Vera Gel (it keeps your face cool), then apply a good sunblock (factor 30 ftw), when thats touch dry put on the foundation but use less on your forehead and upper lip (thats where you sweat the most so you'll have less problems if you let there breath) and any face powder will stick better but try get a mineral based one that's close to your skin tone, they tend to go on smoother and won't clog your pores, finally (and I know this sounds weird) close your eyes, hold your breath and give your face a blast of hairspray, it'll set the makeup and is really good for a long lasting effect. If your skin is pale use subtle eyeliner (light brown) and emphasis your lips and if your skin is toned use a clear gloss on your lips and emphasis your eyes and always, always use mascara, it makes a big difference :)

Ladies, I'll share my secret with you. PRESCRIPTIVES MAGIC LIQUID POWDER!!!!!:):):):):):):):)This powder is THE best powder out there. It goes on to your brush and feels wet on your face when you put it on so it feels really strange at first but it is designed to cool down your face. Go and get it, trust me!

The key to this isn't just the powder but the foundation too.

I use Estee Lauder's Double Wear and it doesn't melt at all, even on holiday. It's full coverage. I then use a small amount of Mac's Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powder over it. It requires minimal touch up then, unless you're like me and keep touching your face!

You might think of changing your foundation?

aveda tinted moistuiser or clinique moisture foundation ftw. both have spf in them and a dusting of cliniques loose powder over your face and your good to go.

Was gona say the exact same thing about Estee Lauder double wear! Its great, stays on all day. Sometimes I use a light layer over moisterised skin and top up with my mineral makeup. Try a primer as well as a loose powder on top of foundation and let moisteriser sink in first too.
