    Shoot fighting was basically just MMA but Bart Vale copyrighted the name. The pre UFC stuff like the clip with ken shamrock were mainly worked fights AFAIK. The second vid you link to is modern MMA, Pride ,UFC etc.

    Thought shoot fighting was something Vale got into, not started? Suppose starting and copyrighting are two different things though.

    The clip with him facing Ken Shamrock is from the UWF. It was a pro wrestling promotion that used a more realistic style, but it was still worked. It says he won a championship, that was the Pro Wrestling Fujiwara Gumi title
