Personally I've always found Motorola phones to have bad reception. I've used a few and it's constantly what I've heard people complain about.

If you're getting no reception at all though and he's getting full bars I'd suggest something is wrong that's beyond just Motorola being ****e.

Try your SIM in his phone and see if you get full bars. If you do bring your phone back to the shop you bought it in and see if they can send it away to get it fixed.

Thanks. Tried the SIM in a Nokia & it's fine - perfect reception. Phone's only a few months old and it's caused problems since day one. Meteor have already replaced it once and now they tell me I'm stuck with it - a phone that only makes and receives calls intermitently. Steer clear of the Motorola Razr V8 - it's pure c**p!!

If youre going to change dont get a w380i! Im having the same problem. On Meteor aswell-Thinking of changing networks-If the area coverage is strong even a phone with a weak signal will do well

Meteor have advised me to take them to small claims court. Got a pay as you go Samsung J700 & have perfect reception everywhere but when I put the sim in the Motorola in the same place there's hardly any signal and my house is 200 meters from a Meteor mast !! It's been back for 'repair' 3 times but Sigma say the phone is within operational specs? & Meteor will not answer any of my emails. Meteor customer service is deplorable - they'd rather lose a customer than replace a handset that's not fit for purpose - making and receiving calls!!
