Attendance requirement

Hey guys, just wondering about something. One of my modules had a 70% attendance requirement, with a swipe in. I'd say that between losing my student card, and actually missing lectures, I probably swiped for about 50% of the module, which means I've failed the attendance requirement. Now I have two 3000 word assignments due for the module. Is there any point in me doing them, like could I still pass the module on my assignments or have I already failed because of my attendance? If I've no hope of passing because of my attendance is it worth bothering with the assignments?

Basically just wondering if assignments can compensate for attendance.

email lecturers for the modules or the head of your school.

    most cases are taken individually.

did you report your card missing? suppose you can tell them you lost it but it's your responsibility to replace it, only takes about 5 minutes in the registry - i was stuck behind 2 people gettin replacement cards in there yesterday, i know!
it's up to them whether they believe you were there, thats kinda the point of getting you to swipe your card i suppose

id deffo crack on with the assignments as it's hardly going to help your case if on top of appearing to not attend lectures you don't complete assignments either

Yeah i'd definately say do the assignments.

Do the assignments and you at least have a chance of getting a reprieve. Don't do them and you won't stand a chance. If its the case where the lecturer can be lenient and doesn't have to follow strict guidelines then it would most definately help your cause.

Why didn't you just get a new card and swipe that? Or tell someone you were attending even though you weren't swiping? Smells like excuses to me.

goodgodholmes in a nice way you've failed the module cause of your attendance.I would advise you though to do the assignment and submit it as normal. What will happen is that you're assignment may or may not be corrected due to you attendance being low. You then have to meet with your module co-ordinator who will give you extra work to do to compensate for you missing lectures. As far as I remember you wont get your result for that module in June with the rest of your results. Also its up to the individual lecturer as well whether or not they want to correct your assignment and give you the result as well and also what work they will dole out

Also when you loose your card there is a sign in sheet which you get from the reception which you use instead of you card.So having the excuse that you lost your card won't be accepted.
