    Hi,

A hypothetical friend of mine has been summoned as a witness to the circut court but is traveling that very day out of the country on a holiday!

The holiday involves ferry's that only sail weekly, so missing the planned ferry is a big deal.

Its all new to me, whats the repercussions of not turning up?

    Thanks!

He absolutely does need to turn up. He could be arrested for just ignoring this. He needs to contact whoever sent the Summons to him (was it a Solictor, the Guards etc), and explain the situation to them, and see what can be done.

yeah, thats the genereal feed back he's been getting. He's talked to the Garda who serverd the summons and whos gonna talk to the state solicitor about it. He's actually going to work abroad for a year and has a letter from his job stating so. Maybe that will help!

He hass also checked the ferry prices and they are considerably more expensive for the next weeks ferry. Will he get that reimbursed?

    Thanks!
