channels available after cancelling sky

    dear sky owners

    i have a question
    i am moving into a house which has sky dish, box and card
    the landlord is cancelling his direct debit with sky
    so it means sky is cancelled

    when i move into the house, if i dont subscribe to sky
    1) what channels do i get at home after cancellation?
    2) if i reconnect again with new customer name and bank details, will it be a new 1 year contract?

    I just want to FTA and FTV channels, i dont want any paid ones.
    please suggest

    FTA channels you will get will be bb1 2 3 4 utv or itv 1 2 3 4 channel 4 (all needed to added to other channels execpt bbc1 &2) sky news bbc news 24 more 4 E4 true movies movies4men film 4 cnn aljazera. with a ftv card you will get channel 5 fiver and five usa and setanta sports news and sky3.

    loads of other shopping channels and othe crap as well.

    Where in the Republic can I buy a FTV card, how much is it, and is it a one-off payment? Cheers.:cool:

    THere should be some free Indian channels, I think alright.

    Best take a browse through the channels on the Skybox, to see what's available.

    thanks for the replies lads..
    i was told by a friend that when the card is cancelled, we do not get any channels from the sky cancelled card.
    so i was bit worred

    as they are uk FTV cards, officially they are not available to people with ROI addresses but they can be purchased through buy and sell magazine i think.(buyer beware though as they could turn out to be not working)
