yay, ninty n00b just joined the club!

hiya, just to say hi, went and joined the ninty club today. officially it's for the g/f's b/day, but i get the feeling i'll be using it quite a bit too.

just got it in xtra-vision in the end, the wii, 2x mote/chux & 1 game for €339 or something like that.

also got her the wii-fit, she wants to get in shape before our holiers at the end of june, so that'll be interesting.

had to get mario galaxy cos there's no sign of any mario karts in any extra-visions i could get to, so i think i'll just hold on to that till kart is back in stock and swap that sucker out (she likes driving games and so do both her nieces).

unfortunately due to family commitments we had to go to a bbq for her b/day so only just got it set up and started the initial config on the wii-fit, not got to play any games yet at all and now it's not far off 1am and we're both up at 5:30, so off to bed. :eek:

just wanted to say hi really.

I have also joined the Wii family. Plumped for Mario Galaxy and Pro Evo. Had a few minutes of Pro Evo last night, hopefully things will improve when i work out how to use the controls.

welcome welcome...my advice to you is,don't trade in Mario Galaxy...maybe get Mario Kart on the side too..but having played games for my whole life,Galaxy is one of the best games i've ever played...

at least wait til you get 121 stars to trade it in (242 is such a stress...)

Yep recently got a Wii myself. Bought it off a mate and then brought a few of the games to trade in to get Wii Fit. Got 78 euro off with them!!!! The guy told me (according to my shocked/astonished/overjoyed expression) that "for some strange reason Wii games hold pretty close to their value when trading them in". Bonus! Have been playing Wii Fit a few days now. I don't really buy in to the whole keeping-track-of-your-bmi etc, but the balance games are a bit of craic. And the jogging...........wrecks me!

thanks for the advice lads, will have to give galaxy a go so, might well just have to get kart too.

one quesiton though. on the main wii menu there's lots of blank spaces which i assume is for other sorts of content. how do i fill them with stuff?

Each game downloaded from Virtual Console will take up a space. Some games (Mario Kart, Wii Fit) have options to add new channels to the wii menu too.

Can I recommend Wario Ware also, fun game to play with friends.

Be careful, mine's the same, seems to have this ultra competitive thing about beating me anyway, (not sure if she cares about anyone else).

Mind you, I still claim I only lost at boxing cos I kept having to use one hand to drag her back or she'd have punched through the screen!

lol. half her problem is that whilst she's looking at the screen, her body is turned 90 degrees towards me and she's swinging towards me!

she'll be home soon, so i think i might well be up for a rematch!
