Graduated couple of years ago but still in first job I got after I graduated...testing. Fed up with it now and career path is grim. Offered Claim Handling role with large Insurance place...provides claim management solutions...basically same money I'm on now but a few hundred more. Really want to be in a job where there is room for progression and you can obtain qualifications. People I spoke too have said to go for it....anyone have advice? I would be hoping to move on and improve in comp after a while and do exams.

Yep. Claims will give you exposure to the technical side of insurance (depending on the circumstances tho...if it's a call centre it's more admin than anything else) and having that will enable you to move on if you want to. Most insurance places are dead keen for you to do the insurance exams and will often pay for it and give you study leave. It can be very lucrative and pretty interesting. I was in broking for 3 years before I gave it up :D

Claims solutions sounds like an outsourced place though and so chances for you to move into different aspects of insurance within that company might be limited.
