Spendign a week in Berlin last week in August. Staying in Riehmers Hofgarten which is pretty central. I've the flights/accom/transportation from/to airport sorted :D

I've been to Berlin before but I was beign brought around my a family memebr who spoke german/knew the city. I'll be going with the GF this time

I want to do the usuals and just walk around the place a bit and see the usual spots. I also want to visit a concentration camp. I've been to one before but don't know the name, wouldn't mind going back. I think it was about a 20m S-bahn (train ) ride south of the city

If anyone has any ideas, let me know! Thanks in advance

    Day trip to Potsdam

Visit the Jewish Museum, its enormous ( though the architecture is the best part of it)

the bus tours are hop on hop off and ensures you see the sites, which you can then visit at leisure

go to the restaurant on the TV tower thingy , great place to propose :) looking down on the city

I gotta get back to Berlin Soon

im just back from a second visit , its a great place.

the concentrations camp is mostly grass land now, a better place to visit is topography of terrors, its very moving and makes you think.

best clubs and bars in europe ( in my opinion) ask around and youll find the best ones

The national museum has a great dinosaur exhibition, yes it might sound boring but it was great craic.

pergamon and altes museum are great , you can see the original nefertiti bust.

the berlin tourism website has great listings

Definately, definately! Do the New Berlin Tour... this one is a bike tour and it's free!! The deal is that the guide's only hope of getting paid is if he/she puts on a good show and gets tips... The tours are part of a series, I've done the ones in Munich and Amsterdam aswel. Every one of them was brilliant because the tour guides were so enthusiastic and friendly.
And if they werent any good then you dont have to pay anything...

Also, the same company have a pub crawl... I went on 2 in the 4 days I was in Berlin and they were both great craic!! (I forget the name of the other pub crawl) By far the best way to spend a night out in a city you dont know at all.
