ADCC UK and Irish Open Saturday 28th June 2008 - Birmingham UK

    Qualification for the 2009 ADCC World Championships have come round full circle again. To make an early go of it, Europe has been having its national tournaments for the European Trials which are billed for early 2009. The UK will have theirs jointly with Ireland on Saturday 28th June 2008 in Birmingham United Kingdom.


    Venue: Cocks Moors Woods Leisure Centre
    Alcester Road, South Kings Heath, Birmingham B14 6ER.

    Competitors Fee: £30

    Advanced weight classes
    Men –65.9kg, -76.9kg, -87.9kg, -98.9kg, +99kg and open class.
    Women –55kg, -59.9kg, -66.9 and +67kg

    Fighting Time
    6 minutes in ordinary fights (first 3 min without points)
    8 minutes in the finales (first 4 min without points)

    Winners of the advanced division will go to the European Trial in 2009

    Novice weight classes (under 2 years experiance):
    Men -61kg, -67kg, -73kg, -79kg, -85kg, -91kg, -100kg and +100kg
    Women –55kg, -59.9kg, -66.9 and +67kg

    Weight in:
    Advanced competition weight in at 9:30 a.m
    Novice competition weight in as your name gets called to fight

    Equipment:
    Fighter may use tights, shorts T-shirt, rashgurd or Kimono
    All fighting equipment must be clean or else competitor will not be allowed to fight.


    Registration:
    Please Note: The fee for early registration/payment, i.e., received before Wednesday 18th June, is £30.00. The fee for late registration/payment (received after Wednesday 20th June) will be £40.00.

    ABSOLUTELY NO REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED ON or AFTER TUESDAY 24th JUNE!

    Spectators
    The doors open half hour before competition.
    Entrance £7.00.

    I'm not sure if I understand the idea of the novice division.. I didn't know there was one in the actual ADCC competition?

    there's not. they run this at the trials...probably to raise some extra money to help pay for the running of the trials?
