Ive begun the Bill Starr 5 by 5 workout program and have been pretty happy with an increase in strength levels etc but im not 100% sure what the eventual outcome from this is suppose to be in terms of appearance?

Im doin about 20 mins of cardio after each session.

Ive stayed at 100kg and am lifting heavier but not sure about physical changes.

Should i be getting bigger or leaner or what?

    few questions here:

whats your diet like, bmi or body fat percentage, and how long have ya been at it.

honestly if you have a high enough body fat you wont see many changes apperance wise, and if your diet isnt up to scratch you wont see much either in lean musscle gain. or much musscle gain at all. and building musscle takes time so if its only been a month or so give it more time and im sure youl see some changes.

if it is a case your new to the gym scene and want a few diet plans or something, maximuscle's website has a good few templates and stuff, i find them very usefull!

Not sure about my body fat, but according to a BMI calculator on the net im 27.5 which is overweight.. Ive put on a bit since rugby finished in march.
My diet was ****e up until a month or so ago.
    Usual daily diet:
Breakfast: Weetabix, few glasses of orange juice
    Snack at 11: Orange,Banana,Yoghurt
    Lunch:Pasta or Roll or sandwich
Dinner: Sheperds pie, steak, chicken breast with good bit of vedge
Also I have a scoop and a half of protein after the Gym and then a scoop before i go to bed. Im goin about 4 days a week.
Once i week i would have a pizza or get a takeaway.

Ive been on the program for about 3 weeks, but have stuck to my targets eg. Increased 2.5kg on 5 rep max on Bench and Row, and 5 kg on Squat 5 rep max.
Im doin about 10 mins on the treadmill, 5 on the rowing machine, and 5 on the bike...

Will that program(Bill Starr 5 by 5 http://www.geocities.com/elitemadcow1/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm) help me get back to normal weight as well as continue my strength gains?

Also any ideas for a good 10 minute core workout i could do every night?

the Bill star programme is purely about strength and is not designed to either bulking or cutting programme. your diet will dictate whether you lose or gain on it. However from the look of it your diet still has masssive holes in it. IF you read the stickies you will get a mountain of info there.

That all said I would be more inclined to eat relatively big while you are on it as it can be quite demanding and recovery can be a b1tch on it if you aren't eating decently and you will end up selling yourself short on it
