Which flash for canon eos 400d? Help!!!

    Hi guys

    Heading to the south of Spain in the next couple of weeks so I am planning on popping over to Gibraltar and maybe taking advantage of the duty free prices and buy a flash.

    From what I can see is will be one of the following, canon 430 or 580 and then the sigma 500 dg st and 500 dg super.

    Ive been looking on conns cameras and kinda find it hard to spot the major differences between them, either between the models in the same brand, and also between brand differences.

    What do people recommend here?

    This will be my first off camera flash, perhaps hence the ignorance :)

    If it's your first, I would highly recommend the 430ex. I used to have one and it was fantastic. I used it at a wedding and it's relatively small, too. On the down side, I dropped in on concrete and it broke :( R.I.P.
