hey This isn't a rumour and certainly hasn't been conirmed by sony but i was thinking that the PS3 which Sony has recently revealed has lowered it's production costs should be in line for a price cut this july and E3 would seem to be the perfect time to do it. With GTA4 out and MGS4 next month with the european bundle already priced at €440 it is unnesicary(for sony) and highly unlikely we will see a price cut till after June. The thing is tho most analysists expect sony to make a price cut this year to boost sales the console should benefit from a price cut announcement in july. With the euro so strong we Irish are getting gouged on prices with the cheapest bundles coming from shopireland.ie and zavvi.co.uk who ship to ireland. What do you think does it seem likely or am i just a wishfull thinker.

    US prices in euro €257 @ amazon.com $399.99
UK prices in euro €378 @ 299 at shopireland £299.90

Have you re-read that line, the word contradictoon springs to mind!!

If Sony have'nt confirmed it, it's nothing more then rumour...your rumour to be precise!!

Anyway i'd say virtually everyone on the forum has a PS3, so price decrease would'nt be much good to us:D

Seeing as they lost money on every console, if they are still not losing, and now its selling well I couldn't see any reason why they would want or need to reduce the price at the moment. October maybe, in time for Christmas, if they did it at all.

There'll be another price cut eventually, but right now they need to focus on improving the range of games and the lackluster PSN.

Sorry it's not a rumour it was just a thought maybe a hope for me. I just wrote that so it wouldn't become a rumour or get anyone's hopes up
