Gutted I'm missing this as it's a lovely day for it. Sprined ligaments in my ankle playing tag rugby last week so out for a bit. Will be down to watch anyway.

Was there to watch some of this, some very competitive races and excellent performances - in particular one athlete in the Men's C 800m had a great sprint finish from 150m out...

Was a great evening in the sunshine, if a little chilly by the end of it. BHAA seems like something I would like to get involved in next year when I go out into the real world...

Was doing a session in Trinity last night on the grass track in front of the Pav bar (got out just before the BHAA races).

Does anyone know the distance of one full lap on the inside lane (i.e. running along by the coloured markers).

Was using my Garmin to time my reps, but it was giving me 0.25m per lap (i.e. 400m) which I wasn't convined by (I think the Garmin gets confused by laps!). Thought it would be shorter as I was running on the inside track.

Presuming it's an accurately measured 400m track, is the inside lane of a 400m track equal to 400m? And if so, how long is the outside lane?

Yes, the inside lane is 400m and the 400m stagger on each lane is around 6m for each lane presuming that the lanes are the standard width so outside would be 642 or thereabouts.

So, the Garmin doesn't lie! On that basis I'm in better condition than I though for the Docklands 5 mile next week.

I was thinking of doing the docklands 5 mile myself. Do you know anything about the course or organisation. A friend of mine did it last year and nearly missed the start because of bad race organisation and was berated and jeered by local kids along the course. He wasn't impressed.

I see the start has changed I wonder if the route has ?

    Route is available here.

Doesn't look the most scenic of routes, but should be a handy after work race.

Tingle - I'm sure you meant 442. Actually I think its more. If the lane width is 1.22m (IAAF standard) then the stagger should be 7.66m and the distance in lane 8 is 453.6m. Must get a measuring tape to check that. :D

Thanks for the link Rdunne, Was happy with my 3.06.. not bad for a grade 28.. that must be the lowest possible grade? How often can you move up a grade?
