Haven't played it yet but heard its very nice - greens are meant to be very fast so get a fair bit of practice in beforehand!

    Great greens.
    Very long.
Super hole design, 9th is a beauty.
    Great facilities.

    Playing it this Saturday.

Suppose to be very nice and course is in great nick.

I heard the distance markers on the fairways are to the front, middle and back of green

    How did you get on?

I played it twice last year and liked it alot. Layout is very good, and can imagine the greens are not too bad either?

2/3 short par 4s and the par 3's are short enough but generally quite long. The greens were fantastic. It was a breezy day and as there is no shelter whatsoever on the course it definitly played like a links.

I feel it will struggle to get membership and actually struggle to survive. Its a difficult course for high handicappers and there are too many nicer courses around. Not much scenery on the course. Quite bland.

I had 31 points and I had to fight for everyone of those!

My feeling is that links should be kept to the coast. Moyvalley would be better served as a parkland - not an inbetweeny!

Took a fourball 5 hours to get around. Not becuase we were held up, its just a long trek.

Great practice facilities and the clubhouse is top notch.

All in all I enjoyed it, but would I rush back? I wouldnt seek it out and it wouldnt be in my top 10.

I played Moyvalley last week and thought it was a fairly mediocre course. The holes are pretty repetitive in my opinion and there is not enough of variety, apart from few water features. The only obstacles tended to be the rough fernlike grass that ran alongside every fairway. On a positive note, there are a few nice holes about, some tricky bunkers and the greens were good. I think they are looking for new members at the moment, but are looking for circa €10k joining fee with €1,250 sub. Darren Clarke designed this course I believe, however I would imagine it will not be the first entry on his CV should he take this up on a full time basis.
