so it's the last 9 holes of the 5th Major...Players championship at the TPC at Sawgrass ....and basically one man and his dog are out watching these golfing superstars.

There would be more people watching a Bruen Cup match.

Considering the amount of money these guys are playing for....it's getting a bit like greyhound racing.....no crowds, but offering a betting opportunity to anyone interested in having a punt

No Tiger...so none of his crowd or the usual 'get in the hole Tiger' when he's just teed off on a 500 yard hole....don't miss that at all!

The few that were there were ignorant towards Sergio in the play-off, chanting for Guydos and chanting U S A, I thought it was unfair and showed up the mentality and thought process over there (lack of).

Ok chanting USA was over the top but shouting for the underdog who happens to be American is totally understandable. It'd be the same in most places around the world and I wouldn't normally stand up for the American galleries.

Big difference between shouting and cheering.

Really? I don't see a problem with the fans shouting out "Go Paul" or whatever they were. Whenever Boo Weekley passed by the 17th throughout the week the crowds started Boo-ing. Do you think they should stop that too? Whatever you argue there's always a great atmosphere around that hole and Sergio seemed to take it all in his stride hitting such a great shot.

The one thing to quote Peter Griffin "grinds my gears" about American crowds is the whole "In the hole" rubbish when some golfer hits a shot....always more often than not when they cream themselves over Tiger.

I don't think that is true, the tournament sold out this year as always. It holds 40,000 a day. That is some amount of people. Probably about 10 times what will be at the Irish open this week.

It is just the course design that makes it less obvious. The course is specifically designed to hold a lot of people around the major greens as a 'stadium' effect.
