anyone know where the best place to look either in republic or north of ireland for 125 sports bikes. iv looked on at least 20 different websites and only seen one rs125 but it was a few years too old. honda 125 is too ugly so if anyone knows any good shops that stock smaller bikes let me know.

or even if anyone has any idea how much an 06/07 new shape rs125 should cost in ireland and what their like to run etc.

seen a few 06 models in the new shape for sale in england which would cost €3000 vrt included. is this cheap?

I think a new RS125 is close to €6k so €3k would be a great price.
I have owned bot the the NSR125 and RS125 (previous model) and i can say that the Aprilia is a far better bike. The Honda would be more practical though.
These days the 2stroke 125's are alot less popular in Ireland because of their high insurance grouping so you may be better off looking in the UK.

Don't know much about the bike but if you're buying second hand be careful of the mileage on the clock -- those small Aprilias won't do high mileage.

Give aprilia dublin a bell, they'll sort you out with a new or used RS but are known to charge high. The aprilia RS125 is a cracker of a bike, have owned and raced two of them and can say that they are very reliable. Sorcing them has become very hard though. 3k is a great price for a new shape model.

If you havent had any look with finding an example why dont you take a look at some alternatives. The new Yamaha YZF-R125 which has just come out this year is a pretty decent looking bike, likewise with the Hyosung GT125R. Both are 4 strokes however. You might also like the Cagiva Mito; they too have become rare however.

If your not comfortable completely rebuilding 2 stroke engines do not even consider buying one of these,if you dont look after them it will come back to haunt you.
The honda nsr 125 will run like a dream with little maintainence, the aprilia rs require at the least a few new piston rings a year ,power valve cleaning and regular oil change etc.

You're presumably talking about the CBR 125? As there's no way you could call the NSR ugly

the thing about the nsr is that it doesnt look like a proper bike, the fairings look cheap and thin and the bike looks real small, while the rs looks like a proper 125 racer.

i was talking about the cbr. the nsr isn't great either though. i ended up getting a 125 dragstar in the end anyway. only €2500 for a 05 with 2600 miles. it hasnt got a mark on it either.
