New BMW ad - What it all about

    I just saw it on tv three there a few minutes ago.

    It was saying.....a car that stops when you press the brake and starts again when you put your foot on the accelerator.

    "A car that can transfer energy from using the brakes back to the battery!!!

    Then the ad ends with bmw already has this or something along those lines.

    Is this real production technology?

    Yup, not new either, just updated.

    VW did it in the 80s AFAIK.

    What they said was that the engine stops when you put it in neutral and starts again when you press the clutch in

    The dart has been doing it for yonks too
    Then the ad ends with bmw already has this or something along those lines.

    Is this real production technology?

    Most BMWs and MINIs have ED since around the middle of 2007 afaik.

    If you want more info on ED then E92 is your man. ;)
