Out for a stroll last weekend, there was a fog across the bay, but it was a warm sunny day. Taken with a D80 & Nikon 50mm f1.8 lens.

    Comments and Criticism welcome.

That is completely ugly, way to kill the chill!

Ugly? That's a bit strong, I know it's a contrast to the first, but I think ugly is strong? It's a different photo and different genre.

The term "ugly" was not to be taken literally!
It was a joke term as to the 1st picture was totally tranquil and the 2nd one contained that view killer and so upset the status quo!!

    Think about it. ;)

Nice shots, I prefer the second one. The first seems just a bit too empty where-as the second shot gives you something to focus on with the same great shot as the background. Possibly crop the bottom a bit, up 1/2cms then you could have the line coming out from the bottom left. Just an idea :)

Animal, I have to say I've noticed a good few of your posts coming across the wrong way on the forum. I'm in no way having a go at your, just saying that you may want to revise your posts before clicking 'submit'. I'm sure all the posts were meant in good humour but sometimes on the net it doesn't come out as if you were talking to somebody face to face. :)

I much prefer the first shot. The twin stacks look like some alien craft emerging out of the mist. Very atmospheric.

    i like the first one

i think it could benefit from a tight crop and turn it into a thin panorama style shot.

Both look a little blue to me, I know the sea and sky will be blue but the fog is slightly unnatural looking, nice composition though.

Love em both.. The first has such a surreal feel to it, as carrigman says like a strange craft emerging from the mist.. Great eye to spot it.
And the second is differnt but also works for different reasons.. God bless the 50mm

I love those two chimneys so much, maybe because I always looked out for them when coming home on the boat when I lived across the water, the first pic is very good, I like!

Both beautiful pictures. I heard about this mist/fog alright, but hadn't seen it until now, it's quite striking alright!

    Class photos.

    :)

Fairly sure someone else posted a similar mist/fog one too, can't remember who though.

Please, flickr is polluted with these bloody things, can we avoid them here?

It's not a picture, it was a tongue in cheek reference to Darrens post!

You get out of bed the wrong side this morning then?? :pac:
