Hi, Ive just gotten a Wii today with Mario Kart. Ive been outta the game scene for a few years so could anyone tell me where is the cheapest place to get games.

    gamesnash.ie
    play.com
    cdwow
    sendit.com
    that canadian site for games
    Any others?

I take it most of the games on eBay are fakes so if anyone has any info that could help me it would be greatly appreciated. Also what about Wii accessories (controllers, remotes etc. ) are these region locked?

The cheapest shop I've come across for Wii games is xtravision. Their even cheaper than allot of internet prices. It was a surprise to me considering how much they rape you on DVD rentals.

    that canadian site for games

I take it you mean http://www.videogamesplus.ca

Can someone confirm this - You cant play Wii games bought from here on an Irish bought Wii cos it is region locked.

DS games are ok though because its region free, like most portable games, more than likely cos people might buy games on holidays while bored etc.

    They are region free aswell.

As for games, I have to agree that Xtra Vision sometime has prices that are cheaper than what you would pay online.

Ebay is grand aswell. You don't really get fakes. Well, I haven't anyway. Just check the seller and you should be grand.

Went into Xtravision the other day looking for a game and was pretty shocked by the jump in price. Even their 2nd hand games where ridiculously overpriced one was less than €2 cheaper than the brand new copy beside it.

Tescos is now my cheapest option.

Tesco is the worst place to go. They have games that are over a year old still at full price. Xtra vision or gamestop are the best.

Tesco in my experience is a complete and utter joke for prices!!

I've found Amazon.co.uk, and in particular their Marketplace sellers to be good value(once you find ones that ship to Ireland)

I payed €34 for alone in the dark (****e by the way) most games seemed to be at least €5 cheaper than xtravision. It was the other way around a few months ago. I'd agree the selection is poor.

I'm restricted buying on line in that I can only buy from sites that accept Irish laser.
